What’s On  at the Cottage Museum?

As well as capturing the village’s fascinating past, the museum hosts a range of special events and activities throughout the summer. Here’s the Summer programme:


Time Travel Trail

19th July to 8th September from 10.30 am – 4.00 pm: Find the Time Machine and time travel your way through the Museum. 50p to enter, normal museum admission charges apply.


Children’s Activities
The following activities are suitable for children 3 years old and over, accompanied by an adult.

Materials used are covered by the cost of the £3.00 entry fee.

August 3 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm: Creative Clay – Fantasy Creatures. This is another of our fun-filled children’s event. Come and have fun with different modelling materials.

August 9 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Play with Victorian Toys, and have lots of fun with lots of painting activities.

August 16 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Wriggly Day. Are you a good garden detective? Come and make a pooter, (small container used for catching small insects). Discover a hidden world of invertebrates in the museum garden.

August 23 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Creative Clay. Come and have lots of fun with clay, including making a garden ornament.


Music in The Garden
Why not join us for some live music in the Garden?
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and home-made cakes will be on sale

July 30 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The first in the 2017 series will feature organist Alan Taylor.

August 5 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The second in the 2017 series sees the return of Mike Warwick who plays and sings to music from the 1950s through to the 1990s. All are encouraged to participate.

August 6 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The third in the 2017 series will feature Colin and Gerry with a Jazz theme and they return by popular demand.

August 13 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The fourth in the 2017 series will feature live acoustic music with Alan Bolt. Relax in the Museum Gardens listening to Folk, Country and 50s & 60s Pop.

August 20 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The fifth in the 2017 series features the Coningsby Strummers who will perform a variety of music. Come for the afternoon or just drop by.

August 27 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The sixth and final offering for 2017 features the Lincoln Ukulele Band who performed at the 1940s opening event in July.

Come for the afternoon or just stay for a couple of songs, the choice is yours. This entertainment is totally free and we will also have tea/coffee and some wonderful cakes on sale in our cafe.
We are always very pleased to receive any donations you would like to make as the museum is totally self-funding now.
The music will be playing from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
