Visit by Year 4 pupils from St Hugh’s school

Today we hosted a visit by 13 Year 4 pupils from St Hugh’s who dressed in appropriate 1940’s attire; and what a wonderful sight they were. From Churchill and various servicemen to farmers and land girls. Well done for all the effort put in, we salute you!

In addition to a guided walk through the Cottage Museum the children were shown a specially laid out collection of 1940’s items and our education team volunteers explained what each item was. The children had hands-on experience of the gas mask, ration books and many other interesting bits and pieces from that era.

They all carried their lunch packs in brown paper bags which seemed very authentic. It was nice to see them as some had visited us before and we hope to see you all again sometime soon.
