Women at War – ‘Granny Goes To War’

The annual lecture at the Golf Hotel with John Chester is about Women at War. The subject this year is Granny Goes to War and highlights just what our ancesters, our Grannies, did during those years between 1914 and 1918.

Ranging from the pre-war Suffragettes to the end of the war, this talk covers the many and varied roles that women undertook to release men for service ‘at the Front’. It looks at the formations of many of the civilian organizations that appeared and their achievements, as well as the varying jobs women under took to keep life going ‘at home’.

Join friends of the museum to hear this experienced speaker enlighten his audience about the women who worked during those war years.

Refreshments will be served.
